‘Permission’ is a series of original paintings on paper. It was made with palette knives and brushes, building layers of acrylic on 300 gsm acrylic paper, then varnished. This series is all about giving myself permission and not suppressing the urge to try neon pinks, oranges and yellows. Colours arriving quickly, all at once, as if they had been waiting to surface. Each piece is like a little landscape, a hilltop shimmering on a scorching sunny day. Painted in Nottingham studio, 2026. Signed on the front and back.
