'Siskin' is a series of small original paintings, made quickly and instinctively. Like watching siskins on tree branches before they fly away: flashes of bright yellow, gone in a moment. Celebration of saturated blues, pinks and yellows, the colours of hot summer days. Painted in Nottingham studio, 2026. Signed on the front.
This is an original painting. It was made with palette knives and brushes, building layers of acrylic on 300 gsm acrylic paper. The edges were secured with masking tape while painting, which leaves a clean white border around the image, so the piece has its own natural frame and is ready for mounting or framing as it is.
The painted area measures 25 x 16 cm, and the full sheet with its white border is roughly A4 (29.7 x 21 cm). The photographs show the painted area only.
