Summer Exhibition @ Nottingham Society of Artists

This August, the Nottingham Society of Artists is holding its Summer Exhibition at the Society's gallery on Friar Lane, running from Wednesday 12th to Sunday 23rd August 2026, with a preview and wine reception on Friday 14th August.

I have submitted three original paintings for the exhibition, all acrylic on paper: 'Promise', 'Permission 4/1' and 'Permission 6/1'. The two Permission pieces come from the series I made earlier this summer, where I let the neon pinks, oranges and yellows arrive all at once. 'Promise' is a fresh arrival from the studio and a more subtle work with deeper purples and dusky pinks with the golden brushstrokes gliding the surface. This painting reminds me of summer walks in the Peak District, heather blooming and shimmering, vast open spaces.

The gallery is open daily from 10.30am to 4.30pm, with late opening on Fridays and Saturdays, 6pm to 8pm. Do come along if you have a moment.
